MINUTES OF THE BOARD
2002

— 12 N - 2 PM Saturday October 12, 2002

Board Meeting held at Joy Luck Chinese Pavilion, West Orange, NJ.
1. The board decided the next annual banquet meeting to be held at The Wayne Manor 7 PM - 12 PM 3/22/2003.
Philip Chang already represented THSAA signing a contract with the manor. A deposit of $300 has been made.
2. A $55/attendant fee, which includes membership will be collected, although it is a slightly higher in cost comparing the last year.
3. The confirmation of attendant number should be done 5 days prior to the date of meeting.
4. President Su will invite THSAA alumnus, Mayor Hsu of Tainan as the key note speaker.
5. Doris Ku will serve as MC at the banquet.
6. Various show programs are suggested and discussed.
7. George Ku and C. H. Su will search for a low cost package that may organize group traveling to Las Vegas in the near future.
8. The next board meeting will be held at the same location 12 Noon on 11/23/2002 Saturday.

Board Meeting held at Joy Luck Chinese Pavilion, West Orange, NJ.
1. Suggest scholarship committee studying whether keep maintaining the awards limiting US region.
2. Thomas Lin delivered book records for 1997-2002 to Catherine Hwang, CPA a few days before the meeting. He explained why the records were hold so long. Tom simply thought that he might do without until annual income or disbursement exceeding $20,000.
3. Authorize Philip Chang representing the board to make a contract with The Wayne Manor for the next annual meeting. The date of preference is in April 2003.
4. Suggest Geroge Ku contacting Shang Lei who moved to Las Vegas recently if it's appropriate for organizing a tour to Las Vegas.
5. Suggest Irene Chang looking for a good deal in organizing a group to enjoy a Broadway show.
6. The next board meeting will be held at the same location 12:00 N on 10/12/02.

The New and Old Board transition meeting held at Chin Yeh Restaurant, Flushing, NY.
Two tables' banquet dinner were served by THSAA as once a year event. The new THSAA board members consist of (1) C.H. Su -new (2) Thomas T. Lin -new (3) George Ku -new (4) Philip Chang -new (5) Yi-Der Shen -new (6) Jen Tien Wung -new (7) Paul Teng -new (8) Irene Chang -new (9) Shueimei Chen (10) Lily Kuo (11) Lisa Lin Yeh. During the meeting C. H. Su was elected as the new President for one year term commencing immediately and Doris Ku was retired pursuant to terms and conditions of THSAA by-law. In the mean time Doris Ku will stay on the board as a consultant to keep contributing her talent. As Tong-Pi Chen, Taiwan Ambassador to Canada invites us visiting Ottawa, Canada this summer. George Ku will be in charge of organizing a bus tour for 7/12 - 7/14 Friday through Sunday.

Board Meeting held at Joy Luck Chinese Pavilion, West Orange, NJ.
Resolution regarding annual meeting on 3/9 Saturday :
Basically leave time for social and dance that there is no any arrangement for show and entertainment.Hired DJ with a singer, who also works as the master of ceremony.
Confirmed the key note speaker, Tong-Pi Chen, Taiwan Ambassador to Canada.Will invite 2 couples of special guest.
Scholarship may award up to 3 distinguished candidates this year at $500 each.
Welcome new board members to serve 2 year term - (1) C.H. Su (2) Thomas T. Lin (3) Geroge Ku (4) Philip Chang (5) Yi-Der Shen (6) Jen Tien Wung.
Assigned individuals to be responsible for different jobs at the meeting.
